John Pielmeier (he/him) began his career with the internationally acclaimed play and movie Agnes of God. Since then he’s had three more plays mounted on Broadway and over twenty-five film, television movies and miniseries produced. Most recently he has played Albert Einstein to critical acclaim at the Contemporary America Theatre Festival and toured his stage adaptation of The Exorcist in the UK. Scribner published his first novel, Hook’s Tale, to wonderful reviews and he’s adapted it as a two-person play, premiering in Houston this past April. He’s currently working on a new musical with his writing partner Matty Selman, and putting the finishing touches on his latest play Fathers and Sons (which he considers his best!) He’s received the Humanitas Award (plus two nominations), five Writers’ Guild Award nominations, a Gemini nomination, an Edgar Award, Camie Award, Christopher Award, and his projects have won a Gemini Award and been nominated for the Emmy Award and the Golden Globe.
