Sharon Washington (she/her) made her debut as playwright at City Theatre in 2016 with the world-premiere of her solo play Feeding The Dragon which subsequently played at Hartford Stage and made it’s Off-Broadway debut at Primary Stages in April 2018 where she was nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Solo Performance, a Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show and won an Audelco Award for Solo Performance. Sharon was the Primary Stages 2017-18 Tow Foundation Playwright-in-Residence. Feeding the Dragon is now available as a best-selling Audible Original audio play and has been published by Oberon Books. The story has also been adapted into a children's picture book slated to be published in 2022 and has been optioned for a screenplay which Sharon will be co-writing. Sharon is celebrating over 30 years as a working actress including recent guest star roles on For Life, Madam Secretary as well as an upcoming recurring role in Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Recent film appearances include Joker, The Kitchen and On The Basis of Sex and the upcoming Down With the King. Theater credits include The Scottsboro Boys on Broadway and Dot (Vineyard Theater); Wild With Happy, Richard III, Coriolanus, Cymbeline, Caucasian Chalk Circle (Public Theatre/NYSF), While I Yet Live and String of Pearls (Primary Stages); Luce (Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3) and regional theaters around the country including: Actors Theatre of Louisville, Guthrie Theater, Huntington Theater, Denver Center, Yale Rep and Arena Stage and workshopped numerous new plays at The O’Neill, Sundance, Powerhouse and NYTW.
