Amrita Ramanan (she/her/hers)

Amrita currently holds the role of Director of New Work Development at the Public Theater where she oversees all new work commissions, readings, developments, residencies, and writers’ groups.Recent dramaturgy credits at the Public include Manahatta by Mary Kathryn Nagle and Sally & Tom by Suzan-Lori Parks. Prior to the Public, Amrita was the Director of Literary Development and Dramaturgy at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. In five seasons at OSF, Amrita served as the Production Dramaturg for a variety of plays, including Cambodian Rock Band by Lauren Yee, Snow in Midsummer by Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig, and productions of Shakespeare's As You Like It,Macbeth, Henry V, and Henry IV Parts 1 & 2. Prior to OSF, Amrita was the Literary Manager/Artistic Associate at Arena Stage, where she dramaturged Arena’s productions of Mary T. & Lizzy K. by Tazewell Thompson and Ruined by Lynn Nottage.
