The New Harmony Project recognizes the potential burden and exclusivity of holding programs in a region with a long history of racism, injustice, and inequity. We realize that our role as a community leader must extend beyond our programming bubble, and that we must become advocates for antiracist practices in every space that we offer programming in. We commit to:
● An in-depth analysis of locations and spaces that we program in, and operational practices needed to ensure safety, comfort, and inclusion.
● Working with community leaders and partners to build awareness within the larger community and general public.
● Working with the community to identify and explore implicit bias, microaggressions, and racism.
● Building safe, equitable, and inclusive programs that operate in tandem with the communities that we serve.
