We recognize that we have not done enough to raise awareness of the colonization of the land that we occupy and offer respect and acknowledgement to the Indigenous communities from whom that land was stolen. We commit to:
● Immediately incorporating a land acknowledgement into every public and private event hosted by The New Harmony Project.
● Building a webpage on newharmonyproject.org to provide information and resources about the colonization of the land that we occupy.
● Reaching out to and encouraging our community partners to ensure that they also acknowledge the full history of Indigenous people in New Harmony, Indiana whenever referencing the utopian societies of the past.
